I dont want it just to be.
Hey this is what Im listening to.

I want it to be this is what Im listening to and why.
This is what Im listening to and this is what its doing to me.

yeah yeah.. should be connected to some sort social media thing that
allows people to check out what Im listening to.
I figure I just post some direct links.

The Social Network - Soundtrack

There is something about this soundtrack.
Im hooked on it. Its hard to describe. Im going to try.
Im going to do my best to explain.

Somehow Ive disconnected my feelings about the movie and its portrayal of Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg.
A beautiful movie and an interesting story.
To know ALL the facts would require more than just watching a movie.

If the movie is based on some of the facts.
There is something stands out to me.

Part of the reason for Facebooks creation
was because of Mark Z loosing his girlfriend

The movie focused on his anger as being part of his driving factor

But in some ways. To me. The very original inspiration, before the anger, came out of a loss of love.

A loss of love. Some people wrap their anger and drive for success around their unconscious drive for love.
For a connection to something or someone outside of themselves.

Many people wrap many negative emotions and behaviors around their desire for love.
Their want for a connection their want for something or someone outside of themselves.

I have started to see social media as a manifestation of humanities drive for love.
To be connected on a level beyond the physical. It may seems like all surface stuff at first.
Yet there are some undertones that need to be heard.

I believe there are more and more people out there that will friend someone because of shared likes
even if they are not impressed by the profile picture. This says something.
Something that goes beneath the layers of only being motivated by surface desires.

Ive started to disconnected the soundtrack from the movie. Sort of.
First it was a disconnection and now its a differentiation. An unpacking and a putting things back together.

Not a separation but an objective awareness of ALL the parts and the wholes that made the movie, the soundtrack,
and what social media is starting to become.

Despite what some of us
may FEEL or think about facebook, Social Media, Mark Zuckerberg, and technology
there is something Epic going on.

Everyday more and more people are getting access to free tools that allow them to connect and share the things they love.
The things that they have in common. From around the world.

Some bad things some good things.
Depends on who you are and your relationship to these.
Your feelings and perception of these things.
Who you are and what your intention is.

There is something amazing about the
FREE tools that have become available to those that have access to them.
Which is a whole lot of people.

Facebook, Social Media, technology, and your cell phones are TOOLS.
They are not You. They are not who You are.

There is something to say about how You use them.
What You put into them. The primary reason You USE social media, facebook, and technology.

ITS not the technology that is You. Its how you USE it that is You in the world.
Its what You use IT for.
Technology is an extension of humanity. The good and the bad.

How WE use Technology is up to us. What WE do with it.

I have been asking myself these questions.
While listening to the Social Network soundtrack
While working on connecting together all of my social media.

I have been using social media to build my web presence in an effort to attract those that I want to work for.
The people and companies that have inspired me. To work for the GOOD.

I began to realize the same things on a deeper level.

There are more and more people that are starting to use social media and the internet to research, learn, more about others, themselves, the world, personal growth, to share, support, encourage, connect and get closer to, those that inspire and those that are making the WORLD a BETTER place. More and more intentions are growing beyond self.

The soundtrack may have started out as being only about Facebook and its creation.
May have started as only being about one individual and a company that has changed the world.

Now. When I listen to the soundtrack.
I think of it as ALL social media.

It has become a soundtrack that heralds the emotional evolution of social media.
The progression of the soundtrack has a developmental emotion behind it.

Transitioning from just self, to more than self.
Transitioning from the one to the many and back.

Becoming THE Social Network. ALL of social media.
Not just facebook.

THE Social Network IS as a whole
ALL of the social media that is available.
At least thats the way that Im starting to FEEL+THINK&SEE IT.

So. While I sit here in the dark. Outside of startbucks while its raining.
Feeling the soundtrack. Feeling and thinking about Social Media.

The atmosphere and what IT represents.

There are layers, layers, and layers of so many sounds and patterns. Softer sounds that are starting to be heard.
There is a depth and something that goes beyond ego...
Something great. That on the surface is hard to hear and feel.
Unless you Let Go.

Off-tone piano key strokes. soft droning sounds. sounds within sounds, parts and wholes, that I cannot described.
They evoke a grand experience. Pieces coming together.
Many individual voices that are starting to be heard.

What was the purpose Social Media?
To prove that someone can become something more than a relationship that has been lost?
To make money?
To build someones ego?
To allow people to be seen and heard?
To get people laid?
To vote on who is hot or not?
Those might have been the reasons in the first place.

This is starting to change.

What IS the purpose of Social Media?
To make money?
To connect people?
Stay connected with family and friends?
To promote what you do?
To share the things that you find fascinating?
To get closer to other people that like what you like?

What do WE share?
The news and things that are going on in the world.
GOOD+BAD.

The things we are passionate about.
The things and people that we LOVE?
To add to inspiration?

To create a movement that changes the world?

To put a spotlight on the GOOD that is happening around the world?

Or to continue the trend that we find in mainstream media.
To share the things WE hate and the things that are wrong with the world.
Sharing all the things that make us angry.
They are important. There are things that need to be seen. Felt.

But there is a balance that is starting to move and change. To grow.
People are starting to share things that open each other up
to new perspectives and new ideas. Cultures and thoughts. Pattern and expressions.
New realities. The bigger picture. Things that are positive as well as negative.
Parts of humanity that go beyond an individual.
Parts of humanity that connect us and bring us closer.
Love?

Are WE simply using Social Media to bitch about whats wrong with the world?
What GOOD does that do? Yes, it makes some of us less ignorant.

Complaining and bitching about something that is wrong in the world does bring us
together in some ways.

What do WE support by using Social Media to share the negative?

Social Media, technology, and our cells phones are not wrong or right.

These things are bringing humanity closer.
Yes there is going to be some friction.
Yes, some people will use technology as if they were 4 or 5 years old.
Yes WE must continue to share whats wrong with the world.
Or else nobody will know about it.
But big media does most of that for us.

It is up to us to share more than whats wrong with us.
It is up to us to share the things that can change the world for the better.

Love starting to catch up with technology. WE are starting to catch up with technology.

Its how WE use IT.
Its how people USE IT
that determines whither it is wrong or not.

I say.
Find, Support, Like, Share, Love and
those that are making a difference.

Be aware of the negative, not ignorant.
Focus on the positive and share it.

Be the change that you want to see in the world.
